History of Thanksgiving
Students will write a paper on the history of Thanksgiving. They will do some research on the Internet and then write their paper.
This assignment can take two class periods: one for research and one for writing the final paper.
You can also have the final paper as homework.
First, students will gather information about Thanksgiving.
Then, they will read the information and take notes of facts that seemed important to them.
After that, they will organize their material into an article.
Finally, they will write their article.
When they have completed their article, they will edit their work and revise it.
I would suggest they submit their research information, the first draft of their article, and the final copy so that you can see how much effort they put into writing the article.
You can grade on their research information, the structure of their article, their editing and revision, and their final copy.
You can give points on the research, first copy of article, editing and revising, and final copy.
