Description

In this lesson, students will learn about the musical alphabet and stepping down. You will have a study sheet and worksheets for the students.

Goals

Students will learn to:
Recognize the musical alphabet
Identify stepping down

Materials Needed

You will need the following study sheet and worksheets to teach this lesson.

Study Sheet - The Musical Alphabet - Stepping Down

DOWN-Down goes from one letter to the next lower letter.

STEP-A step goes from one letter to the very next letter.

You have to think backwards when you are going down.

Look at the following examples:

A step down goes from G to F, F to E and so on through the musical alphabet. When you reach A, you start again with G.

Directions: Fill in the blanks.

Write a step down from each letter.

(Remember to think backwards)

Procedure

In this lesson you will use the study sheet to teach the musical alphabet - Stepping Down.

First, you will explain the musical alphabet.

Then, you will review what stepping up means.

After that, you will explain what stepping down means.

Finally, you will give the students the worksheets.

Grading

100 to 90 = A

89 to 80 = B

79 to 70 = C

69 to 60 = D

Below 60 = F

You will grade the students on the total number correct out of the total number possible.
