  • Morale is low at this school. I don't know if it is due to NCLB, leadership at the county level, or local school administration. I have been involved in this school for several years and I still feel like an "outsider". There is an atmosphere of distrust. Even among teachers there are "the chosen" and "the invisible" - cliques and principal favorites.

  • The principal has been out of the classroom for many years. I think she is out of touch with the realities of today's classrooms and has little genuine appreciation for the demands put on her teachers. She puts too much emphasis on things that look good to visitors and things that look good on paper. Good planning is essential to good teaching but there is little time to do it well. Too much time is required for unimportant paperwork and meetings. The teachers' time is spread too thin.

  • I didn't get a warm feeling from the principal. The teachers seemed to be hurried and stressed. Not a good school climate in general. I was glad that we moved away. I like our new school better.
