  • As a parent of two children that attended TT Small Elementary I am very pleased with the majority of dedicated administrators, teachers and support staff. No school is perfect and all school have their share of problems, but with the reductions of finances and resources and increased demands for productions and state level adopted outcomes for success I feel TT Small is doing an excellent job. As far as the comment made previously by a substitute teacher who worked at TT Small, I am truly grateful that my children did not have spend an entire year under their instruction, with such negative visions for potential success

  • I have been a substitute teacher at this school and I can see no way that the school could ever improve. I am certified to teach both Mathematics and Art in the state of Florida with experience in the classroom and in tutoring students privately.
This school is caught in a cycle of student violence and bullying on anyone who happens to be there for the taking. One person in the office is trying to do a good job but from the look on her face she is harried, stressed and worn thin.
Teachers are there merely as babysitters and as guards against greater acts of physical violence. I felt sorry for students that have abilities to learn but are being dragged to such depths of a desire to never wanting to learn or giving a kind thought to any other individual.
My contact with the (...) is that he is mandated by someone to merely keep the lid on things and to present the facade of directing a school towards learning. From what I saw and experienced is that the majority of the student population will become either inmates in prisons or cannon fodder for the military. Harsh but true. But to get into the military they might have to be able to read on a fifth grade level and as only 3% are at proficiency for reading then I feel most will be in prisons providing they live long enough.
Looking on line, the school has been in a state of steady decline for several years, but monies are still there as parents need the babysitter so that they might go to work or be allowed to be given a respite from being around their own children.
