  • My son has gone to Johnston for some time now. When he first started the school was great. Kids were allowed to be kids and the school had a warm and fuzzy feeling. You knew your child was recieving a great education. BUT all to soon the principle changed and ever since then the school is ran more like a concentration camp rather than a school. The kids are not allowed to talk EVER, not even during lunch. They have STRICT rules at recess and they simply do not allow kids to be kids. They don't give kids the chance to burn off the energy that all kids have. They try to cover up problems such as bullying that happen in the school rather than deal with it. I guess the administration there has some political agenda. SInce the administration has changed, I've heard several complaintes from my child's teachers. They are not happy. The only teachers that are happy are those that wanted to power to run over parents and kids. That want kids to be in a cookie cutter mold instead of having individual personalities. We have been so dis-satisfied the past two years that we are moving in January to a new school disctric. Its sad, but its sadder that no one out there will stop it. If you have a choice don't send your kids to this school. They won't be allowe to be a kid and they'll be taught by high quaility teachers that are only unhappy. Something tells me that a bunch of them will jump ship as soon as the economy turns around.

  • The teachers were great when my son went there for elementary school. They kept me informed of his grades as well as any illness that was going on in the school. My son was in the hospital once while attending and the staff called and sent letters to him. The principle at the time, Mr. Ingram, always replied to my emails which made me feel very appreciative.

  • I went to the school for seven years and it was only average because the lunches were horrible tasting and small and the teachers were kind of bad, nice very nice, even but bad. I like the school but the connections were also kind of boring. When I went to middle school after moving I was very behind compared to some of the other students.
