  • I am a former student of Inter-American Magnet School, as is my older brother. The school and multicultural program is very rare in the country, especially with the involvement of parents and volunteers to the degree they promote. The fondest memories I have are the ones where the teachers show no individualism, rather, give the same attention to all the children in what feels like a family. I went to school LOOKING FORWARD to the next school day, to see what new things I'd learn and what fun projects we'd accomplish. And the fact that English-dominant children learn Spanish as a second language and Spanish-dominant children learn English as a second language, seems to be a bridge of knowledge the teachers bring while the students don't even notice. Years later, the culture brought into their lives, memories, and even the events they hold give off this "Everyone is a family" feel, isolating no one. Unfortunately, due to the severe popularity of the school, if you intend on having your children attend, they are placed on a waiting list that sometimes takes 5 years, unless your an alum that has children, in which case have a greater chance that they would be accepted.

I will NEVER forget the admiration, love, memories, culture, knowledge, and family-based structure this school has brought me and my family as it will yours, as well!
