  • The school facilities are fine but we experienced lack of professionalism on behalf of some staff: the (...), and a few other teachers that basically graded papers according to who the student was. The grading process was not democratic, it was their way or the highway and we were told that in so many words. We were lied to by the (...) on a couple of occasions about teachers. Child was misgraded many times, and if we would not pay close attention she would end up as a C student not A as she is. They treat children like a number, not like a person. Last quarter they were racing for the OAA test and neglected childrens grades. Our child got his first B this year as a result of the schools priority over students grades with the taking of the OAT. A superintendent told us that he is satisfied with everything in his school and is not going to address the complaints and habits some teachers showed-that he was also a former teacher. Today we been told that we couldn't have the last math test paper, and questioned whether we would ever get to see it! As far as we are concerned, we have been discriminated against for being caring, input oriented parents. We helped our child with homework, encouraged our child to ask questions when there were misunderstandings. Several occasions our child (as well as some others) felt reluctant to ask certain teachers questions. All-in-all, we DO NOT recommend this school to anyone. The students' tests ARE NOT commensurate with their OAT scores-they are minimized and forced into a situation where determining when tests will be given is according to Hoyle. IMO-this school is part of the problem in pursuit of excellence and NOT the solution.
