  • My daughter attended this school for First and Second grade. During these two years I repeatedly requested that she be texted for learning disabilities. The teachers and the school social worker both said that it wasn't necessary because she was meeting "the benchmarks" of acceptable work for her grade level. In the meantime, she cried over her homework every single night, refused to read with us, and grew to hate school so much that she became physically ill. I am homeschooling her now and she is a completely different child. I don't think that PPES is a bad school, I think the administration and most of the teachers care deeply about kids and do the best they can. My daughter just needed more help than their budget would allow her to receive. In addition, there were numerous behavior problems with other children during her second grade year. The teacher was unable to control the class, when only compounded what was already a very stressful situation for my child. In one instance, the entire class was physically searched by the asst. principal because one of the students had stolen some money. The money was never recovered but MY child was forced to turn out her pockets and take off her shoes, as if she was the thief. The parents were never told of this by the way, I heard about it from the kids. This is totally unacceptable. There are some horribly behaved kids in that school, and the teachers don't always do the best job of making sure that all the kids are protected from the few that make bad choices.

  • Ridiculous standards for the early grades. No allowance for differences in gender and normal differences in maturity level. They will hold your child back for the slightest reason!!!! Do not send your child here unless they are early bloomers, or be prepared to spend a lot of money on intense tutoring. Not all the teachers are bad and I won't name names, but do some research and try to get your child into the class of one of the good ones or you will regret it.
