  • Allatoona High School provides very low quality mathematics instruction. Other areas of instruction seem adequate. My High School senior has received very little true instruction in Math I-III and the teachers seem frustrated and unable or unwilling to provide explanations. The usual instruction method is to jot examples on the board and then assign in classroom work, so that the "teacher" can return to their true educational passions, which is usually coaching one of the many fine Allatoona HS sports teams. Sports is one area where Allatoona HS puts great effort. The frustrated public servants (teachers) may have given up on the new curriculum, in part, due to being unequipped to teach the Math I-IV curriculum. If you are not willing or are unable to shell out $11,000 - $16,000 per year to send your student to a local private school, be aware that your public school student will be robbed (since you probably pay property taxes) of a real mathematics education and our state and our country will continue its technical decline.
