  • I would have to say that some of the professional staff at Oberlin Elementary seems to have lost their professionalism. They focus on their personal problems during lesson time and the children seem to fall behind on receiving a proper education. Louisiana has a statement, â€"No child left behind.”
Well at Oberlin Elementary if the parents or guardians do not advocate for that child, then that child will be left behind. I feel the School Board or the Board of Education needs to step in and reevaluate some of their employees based on the student’s performance in the classroom setting, ILEAP and other testing materials. The Disciplinarian System -- the Red Light System needs to be removed as module for positive behavior. This needs to happen across Allen Parish, not just in Oberlin. There are more kids abused because of the Red Light System than any other disciplinarian systems in Allen Parish. A great majority of parents have complained and addressed the problems of the Red Light System with appropriate Professionals who pushed for the positive behavior modification program. However the system is still in place and has a negative affect on the children.
