  • No school is perfect. Try to find one that has all the money it needs to provide the best education possible for your children. I am retired after 33 years in public school in a neighboring parish. I have heard parents refuse fund raisers, etc. Check into how much money is actually needed by a school to run. I can't tell you how much money I have personally spent on my students. Check with your student's teacher and see what he/she has spent out to pocket. Taxes don't cover everything. Textbooks cost $30/$40 a piece.
Don't complain about not having a PTA, meet with the school administration and start one. I'm sure they would also welcome help with activities. Teachers have enough to do without extra. Volunteer to help out. Drop by your school regularly and see what goes on and lend a hand.

  • Constantly asking for money,no PTA type forum, activities not well planned.
