  • Hello, I am trying to help a young man doing his Genealogy for his fathers family.
His father was Leroy Williams killed in action during WW11.
I have located one Leroy Williams that lived in Stanton at http://www.migenweb.org/montcalm/military/wwii_casualties.ht
    ml
This is what the article says
Sgt. Leroy Williams former Stanton High School athletic star, Tuesday became Stanton’s 3rd reported war casualty. His parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ted Williams, now working at the Willow Run bomber plant at Ypsilanti, were notified by the war department that he had been killed in action Dec. 6th somewhere in the S. Pacific.
I am thinking that this may be the father..
He has a picture and I am wondering if Stanton has pictures for High School Granduate for the 1930's
Can someone please send me a picture of this man so we can compare it to the picture the son has?
Any help at all would be so very appreciate.
This young man deserves to know his fathers family.

  • Since the only other person that has reviewed this school, my school, seems to be depressed or have to much repressed hate inside of them, I thought that I should tell people about how the school actually is.
The Principle at Central Montcalm is John Kerney. He is strict but is quite nice when treated with respect. The Staff is excellent, more that one of them have liked it so much there that they have stayed for over thirty years.
The Teachers are very involved in what their students are doing, willing to give a helping hand, and are well qualified for what they do.
The Sports teams are devoted but they also have the rule that if you aren't doing well in school, that you can't play. They offer sports such as: Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Track, Cross Country, Baseball and Softball, and probably some that I am missing. The School offers so many clubs that I can't keep them all straight. They offer things such as Quiz Bowl, FHA, NHA, The Yellow Ribbon Club and many more.
The classrooms are very safe. Almost all classes offer some sort of hand sanitizer, and all students have access to bandages. The School was actually shut down for days when they thought that the students may catch an illness, and the entire school was disinfected. The school does allow you to go into the gym at lunch, but they don't have a playground. The school has a closed campus during lunch, so the students can't go get lunch from town or home, but if you ask me, it is easy to sneak out if you really need to.
Homework at the school is actually very fair. Any student that says otherwise is just angry because they have less time to watch TV and sleep at home because they have homework. So long as you work on things in class and do as you are told, you shouldn't have much to any homework.
