  • I attended Ej all through my school years. So I wanted my son to go there too. Unfortunatly the school system is the same. Stuck up people in the office who is more worried about your kid being 2 minutes late and saying he will be kicked out of the district. Wanting to be rude with your kid and with you. My son finally has got all the ducks in the right row because he is in special education and this person in the office does not even care. It seems to me that they would rather be messing with a kid rather than helping one. Too bad he is enjoying this school, but not some of the bull crap of workers.

  • The back and forth of positive and negative reviews here about ejhs is really freaking me out. We are moving to the area from out of state and looking at east jackson as a possibility, but these reviews make us want to consider somewhere else. sorry.

  • The administration at this school is lacking and has been for the last twenty years...and it doesn't appear to have any structural improvements for their hierarchy in the future...so that's the bad news. The good news is that if you are looking to purchase property in the East Jackson area, you are not "bound" to this school. If you end up going to East Jackson and have issue with the administration, make sure that you understand they like to call the police and make a situation very dramatic by their poor inability to find working solutions. That, right there, should indicate that the people in positions of power are functionally illiterate as well as scared of losing their jobs so it's constant deflection. If you can, use the school-of-choice option and opt for NW or Western if not Grass Lake. Also, even though they are the most "east" Jackson school district, as you go into Washtenaw county the caliber of education rises admirably.

  • This school is FULL of DRAMA and people get into fights over the stupidest stuff. For example..like 3 weeks ago a couple of students got into it over BOWLING SHOES!!! Another one was between 2 girls over a GUY..WOW.. EJ is the biggest known school that's full of drama.. GET OVER IT.... We really need to get a reality check. and grow up..
I mean things like this happen and then students move, and then we wonder why. Because this school has like a fight almost every other day. come on guys. we are in high school. There's gonna be DRAMA but grow up and keep yourselfs out of it....!!!!

  • being a student at EJHS..its hard to sit here and listen to people who are not now sitting here in the classes enjoying the school, its not that bad.
No we are not known for being top dog!
but we are a very well put together school we do a lot for each other and obviously enough like it to keep it going.=]
people don't understand that the education is enough to get kids into the real world.

  • This school is not all unfair as some people seem to think. They are probably just mad because their kid isn't smart enough to pass. You can't blame everything on the establishment. If you don't know how things work, then don't try to work things. For example, "The Cynic" sits there and moans about how this school isn't producing a new generation of valuable citizens and he or she couldn't spell "individual" right. Get over it. If you go to the school, then complain all you want. If your kid isn't passing, do something to them. I'm pretty sure writing a bad review on a website most people don't know exist won't do you much good.

  • I highly dislike East Jackson High School. This establishment is inneffective in creating a new generation of productive citizens. The students aren't treated with respect and the rules are outdated. It is my personal opinion that this school is more concerned with standardized test scores than the education of individule students. I believe that anyone thinking of enrolling thier child in East Jackson High School should consider whether they want a child who has school spirit, good grades, and is excited about thier education or a child who gets barely passing grades and spends everyday in a crowded classroom with crumbling textbooks wishing for the chance to arise to thier full academic potential but never recieving that chance. Thank you for your time.
