  • My child has been attending this school for years. My student's math skills at enrollment were proficient, and have gone downhill every year of attendance at this school. We have never had a teacher here who can teach math in a clear, accurate, or retentive manner. They cater to the few extremely disruptive students by not handing down the same consequences to them as every other child. These few who are catered to use the f word word daily and receive no punishment. Children are not encouraged or taught to wash their hands before eating lunch. Besides a few select parents, parents generally do not feel a part of their child's community here. There is no inclusiveness. If you are not in their circle, you are not included in your child's education here. The school website is not utilized or updated with pertinent information.
Teachers do not respond to messages about their students. Students are treated with disrespect on the playground and at lunch by bossy proctors who like to boss little ones around for no apparent reason. They are there to supervise them, not act like army sergeants, nor to belittle, hassle, or intimidate these little children. In the mornings before school, children waiting to enter the school grounds are kept outside the gate until 7:15am as approaching cars race by them. The children would be safer waiting inside the gate, on the other side of the fencing, to protect them from any possible runaway vehicle that could strike them. Making them wait on the sidewalk along side the busy street is not the safest approach. Clearly, the safety, well-being, and academic growth of students is not a priority here. They use state test scores to assign grades to students. The music teacher makes nasty remarks to the kids so they wont want to come to music anymore and his class will be smaller. Check the school's API scores.

  • This is a great school. My kids have learned a lot since they have been there. The teachers and staff are very helpful.
