(5 / 5) Flag as inappropriate - We have a first grader at Birney.I never thought my child would attend Birney since School didn't have a good reputation, but we believed in having our child going to our home school so I went for a visit with the principal and a tour of the school. I was very impressed that the principal took time for us and showed us around instead of the teachers.I really liked what I saw and I really liked her.She has changed the school since she has become the principal.And now the school has applied to become a distinguished school since our score in 800's. Then there was no doubt in my mind that my son will be going to this school.Now the measure C has passed in Redondo the school renovation is in progress in couple years the school will be renovated and would look great.
(The class rooms have been renovated 2 years ago).
The staff is very friendly and helpful they have special reading programs, parents are involved in the class rooms and teachers are wonderful.
You need to pay a visit and see it for yourself.In May they have a open house which I highly recommend.Or just stop by or call and make an appointment.
