  • I agree with the previous comment the reviewer who made those absurd comments is clearly confused. I could not disagree more.
I am VERY happy with Lawrence Brooke School. It is in a safe and nice neighborhood full of wonderful and caring teachers, staff, and kids! They have high standards in, principal leadership, student achievement, and teacher involvement and guidance.

My son has attended this school since Kindergarten. He absolutely LOVES, LOVES ALL his teachers. Never once did he not want to go to school. He has ALWAYS wanted to go. If I ever had a question or concern about my childs progress the teachers thoroughly explained all weaknesses and strength, and made recommendations accordingly. During all Parent Teacher conferences His teachers showed that they really care about my sons progress. My son's favorite subject is Math and he is at the top of his class! With some effort, on his behalf, me the parent and teachers at Lawrence Brooke he has stayed this way. It is a group effort and you can't throw it all on the teacher. YOU have to work harder, maybe get some extra help after school with astudent that is doing well in that subject, tutoring or a supportive parent that will help you get through your obstacles.

I hold this school in high standards and I will miss everyone once my child graduates. Thank you Lawrence Brooke School for a great experience.

  • I don't know what the previous reviewer is talking about. I also attended this school. It was here that I was encouraged to be the best that I could be, fell in love with reading, and had one of the best teachers I will ever have. As far as math goes, you don't learn algebra in EB until 7th or 8th grade, so this person probably had math problems elsewhere and I had no troubles with math and being taught it there. If there was any problems I had, it was fellow students that were bullies, whose behavior was not ignored, and was responded to in an appropriate manner.

Lawrence Brook was (and as far as I hear still is) an excellent elementary school. It is a safe school. This users comment about corporal punishment is absurd and untrue. Either they are thinking of a different elementary school in a different region of the country, or they are not actually a former student, parent/guardian or involved in East Brunswick in any way.

  • Teachers have no certification or even a college education--as a graduate, I know this from personal experience. When I was in high school, I had to get my dad to help me with algebra because none of my teachers could do it.
Doctrine is extremely fanatical, and corporal punishment is still practiced. I really can't even believe that this school is legally operating.
