  • I remember my first day at PHS, I was an entering senior; I felt very frightened, intimidated, and helpless because of all the bad rumors i had heard about PHS. I entered Mrs.Bowman-Wiliams office, whom at the time was the Guidance Counselor. She changed my life forever:)While in her office for the first couple of minutes, she gave me the best advice a counseolor could have given a student and she went above and beyond the call of duty for me that morning:)I entered class late that morning, however, I had already learned my first life lesson for the day. I not only listened to her advice about PHS, but i actually followed it:)I had the best time of my life at PHS; there is no other comparison. I was born and raised in South Plainfield(k-10 grade) and had to move from there to piscataway high(11th grade) in my junior year; in other words I went to three different high schools due to unusual circumstances in my mother's life, however, God turned the bad cicumstances into great circumstances, as he always does:)I am grateful and honored to say I am a graduate of PHS; the other schools are good academically, however, as an African American in the other schools, you feel left out and ostrascized for just trying to be you, and then you find yourself trying to act like them; which does not work. There is no sense of family felt in the other schools as it was for me in PHS. There are plenty of role models to choose from at PHS, however, it is what you make it. My experiences at PHS opened the doors for me to attend Grambling State University and from there, I attended Texas A&M Universty; at this time I have earned a B.S in Criminal Justice, M.A in Education and I am a certified School Counselor:) hahaha, thank you Mrs.Bowman-Williams & Thank you PHS for all that you have done for me!!!Keep keepin on!!!
