  • I am so pleased to know that there are teachers at this school that are also doctors! How wonderful! If they can't control a student or classroom, they suggest medication, maybe the teacher should get the medication or find another profession, like dog catcher. No teacher has a right to go to a parent time after time and tell them to get their child on medication.these are kids being kids, you want them doped up so you don't have to do your jobs? I believe it should be illegal to even suggest the use of medication. If the parent thought it was needed then that is between the parent and their pediatrician. Back off teachers or you will have a law suit. (...) you should keep your teachers under control and not allow them to berate a student in front of their peers.

  • I went to this school from Kindergarden -3rd grade. As well as Pre-first. And as of now, having graduated from High school and knowing people from all the other schools, I can say that Genesee St. school is the best elementary school in Auburn, NY. I was held back in Kindergarden and sent to Pre-first. Where I was taught how to better what I learned in Kindergarden. I was taught higher grade math, harder spelling words. As well as that I was given a class for speech therapy due to I had a terrible lisp and learned how to use my tongue when I talk. I haven't heard of any of the other elementary schools in Auburn, NY doing this. No one has even heard of Pre-first unless they went to Genesee Elementary. The Teachers are also very helpful. I've also found that the students that go to Genesee has learned to use their Memory to better themselves. Through all of my friends I've found that the greatest memories came from Genesee school. I would suggest this school for any new parents with a child first starting school. 5/5

  • Very shameful that some parents are closed minded when it comes to their children. Accept all help recommended for your kids. IT CANNOT HURT THEM ! This school is great with the best teachers around. My child went through 4 years in this school and if they had told me she needed extra help by all means I would have made sure to get that help. Do NOT let your children suffer because you are "too proud" to believe they aren't perfect.

  • This school is a complete failure. All they're interested in is labeling students. When my 2nd grader (at the time) was going to be held back because "She still has most of her baby teeth" that should have been a warning sign that this was an unsatisfactory school. Now my younger child is in the school, has been in Kindergarten for 1 week, and has already been labeled as needing reading and math help, even though he's been doing the work he's been assigned so far for 2 years already.
