  • I can't say enough about how great this school is. I have one child that completed all six years here and another child now in the Spanish Immersion program. This is a great program and an awesome opportunity to have a child become bi-lingual in a time where so many companies need bi-lingual staff. I can't imagine how anyone wouldn't think this is a significant advantage to any child participating in this program. The teachers are all wonderful. I don't know how this school has been so lucky to have the top teaching staff they do. I have had needs to interact with both the principal and vice-principal and in each instance, my needs were met appropriately. My older child is now in middle school and I feel he is going to be very successful in life thanks to such a solid foundation from Hopewell Elementary.

  • Most of the administrative staff will bend over backwards to help. The principle is not very parent friendly if you have a problem, I have heard from several parents that if you have a problem, deal with it. The assistant principle and staff under her are awesome to work with. Student achievment in this school is exceptional, they have been recognized by the state over the last several years as a school of distinction. This school also has the distinction of having the only Spanish immersion program in Randolph County (though I dont agree with this program) .I can not say enough about the teachers, the teachers do so much to get involved with your childs life and help guide them in there journey of growing into responsible adults. The teachers are very communicative with parents through weekly classroom newsletters and such. When schools out for the summer, its not here, the school offers a week long art camp (for a small fee to help pay for supplies) for students who enjoy art and also a week long computer camp. As far as sports, there are none here or any elementary school for that fact in this county. Students are allowed a lot of time to play outside during recess. This facility is still a fairly new building, it was built in the early 2000's and is in excellent shape and very clean, the custodial staff takes great pride in there work. The classroom are very bright, well maintained and climate controlled. Thanks to the awesome and very involved PTSA, they were able to raise enough money to put a smart board in every classroom in the school. The playground equipment is in good shape and spurs the immagination. Homework loads are very resonable, not to much and not to little. There is homework most every night except friday night and the homework that is done greatly assists in the students learning. This school focuses A LOT on reading, in K and 1st grade, books are sent home EVERY night for the child to read. All in all, this school is very student oriented, the teachers and staff actually care more about the child than other things such as money. I am very proud to say that both of my kids go to this school and have excelled greatly.
