  • Field Day was my favorite day of the school year. We could wear shorts and welcome summer. Poaching the slide was a daily event. Ms. Sullivan was my favorite teach. She got hit on the head with a chair by the unruly, yet (incredibly artistic) student. I remember blood running down her face while chasing him through the rain down Tower. Anyhow, St. Bernard elementary is where I received my first kiss; the only time I've ever pushed a girl; commenced a dignified fist fight, got kicked in the $$$$ by a girl named Buffy, dealt with Mr. Hall and his detention torture of holding dictionaries as if I were Christ, ate cinnamon butter toast breakfasts, gave the bird to the highschoolers and played in the pavilion after dark. I remember Coach Miller and Mrs. Voorhis. I was born in 1972... for time reference. Great childhood memories from this institution.
