  • The staff and leadership really care about the students. The school has an open door policy to allow parents to work with the teachers for a common goal, the educational success of our children. The focus on positive behavior has changed the children in a way that will provide them with great social and learning skills. Over all Monroe is a great school.

  • Yes, this is a Title I school but many families are young and in OWNED, just starting-out small homes which makes up part of the district. The school is actually located in a nice neighborhood in a good location of the city. Principal Charles Tompkins has quickly built an excellent faculty and strong academic program since his arrival in 2007. The school is in the design process of a 3.5 million dollar renovation to take place in 2010-11. Our children thrive here. We love their teachers, the large classrooms, Friday Assembly, the huge playground with numerous play areas and PTA activities such as the carnival and Nacho Bingo night. They love art, choir, computers, and the truly excellent P.E. program. The AR reading program and Saxon math is also a plus for us. Why pay for private school eith this awsome school in our own neighborhood?
