  • This is a great school!! I know for a fact that there have been Palmetto Fellows from Timberland, they are listed on plaques in the front corridor of the school as are SAT & ACT score stand outs. I know that to be a fellow you must be aware of the requirements before Freshman year and there are plenty of courses to choose from. If a child can complete the courses they can take credits to college from the offered curriculum. The fact is that it is the job of the parents to be as involved in their child's education as they are in trying to blame someone or something else for schools which they think are not good enough. The opportunities are there, just make the point of getting with your child's perspective counselor and setting the goals, with the child, that they are wanting to attain. Taking responsibility for our own futures and the futures of our children, all of our children, is the one part of education that is truly missing today.

  • 4 yr principal retiring after 2009-10. He made great improviments in safety & disipline. My student (1st yr at THS) was exposed to limited drugs & tobacco use in 1 classroom. Teachers encountered (except one) was nice), but don't push to complete courses. Only 2 AP courses offered, Honors classes are a joke compared to other schools. Guidence doesn't deal with gifted students or out-of-state colleges at all. Only 3 SAT scores of 1300 (ever). School spirit good, Parent involovement very poor. Funding good. Athletics strong. Campus neat/clean. THS produces more Professional athletes than Palmetto Fellows...what does that tell you?!
