  • Principal Leadership and Staff
I did work 2 years for HISD (Talent and Gifted 5 th grade teacher) and for year and a half for Alief ISD as a Substitute teacher. My 3 kids (14, 11 and 9 years old) have been Rees Elementary students. Based on own personal experience, Rees Elementary management and staff deserve to be considered roll model for what we need as a public school in the US. The principal established the school goals, mission, vision, boundaries, and working culture living by her own exemplary performing, and then morale and outstanding management, as well as exceptional and experienced staff members guarantee the high quality of the whole educational process.
    Overall Ranking and Student Achievement
Discipline, standards of operations, high quality of instructions including all extra curricular activities and early individualized plan based on each student needs guarantee student achievement in this school.
    Teacher Involvement and Guidance
Definitely teacher’s experiences and years of services made the difference. As mentioned before they are very involved on each individualized plan, set by all supportive programs like especial education, etc. They constantly are in direct communication with parents, which help a lot to correct and guide appropriately your kid’s progress.

    Extracurricular Activities and Sports
I have participated on several breath taking extra curricular activities at night during their open house or PTO programs where hundreds of students performed on different field like: Music performing , Arts, Dancing, Singing, and Sportive activities.
    Classroom, Building and Playground Safety
Several marine environments, aquariums, and gardens are settled within the school areas. Buildings are clean and neat as well as sportive areas and recently build playground which are largely use by community surrounding the school.
    School Homework Load Appropriateness
    Fair
