  • My nieces/goddaughters had to move to Ft. Worth because of their father's work and I worried about their schooling because one of the girls is GT and advanced and the other does well in school but has to deal with the probleme of dyslexia. The teachers there are great and the principal is terrific. The office personnel are so kind and most helpful. When I went to visit and share lunchtime with the girls, I really like the school and felt much better about their move to FT. Worth even though they are so far from home.

  • As most of the families in our (old but turning over with new middle and upper middle-class families) neighborhood opted for private or parochial schools, we didn't know what to expect from SHM but felt that we should give it a look. From day one, we were blown away by the staff, teachers and curriculum. FWISD does not have a G/T program for kindergarten, but the staff immediately tested our G/T son and modified his curriculum without prompting. Individualized attention was the theme from the get-go, and every child seems to get the same treatment. The teachers really go the extra mile, staying to teach extracurriculars like ballet and drama club. Physical plant is great, and the classrooms are serviced by state-of-the-art mobile computer classrooms. If you are considering moving to Arlington/Alamo Heights, give this school more than a glance - we are so glad that we did!
