  • I am attending SHS, but first off it wasn't my plan on going there it was a last minute situation. Before I went there I had heard great things, a teacher use to rave how wonderful it was and I kept hearing nice things about the school. When I decided to go there it wasn't how I'd thought it be it's not like it was a bad thing. I noticed some teachers care and teach and others just hand you your work to do. But I guess you have to deal with that most of your life. I came from a private school and it was definitely a change I'll have to say. I wasnt use to loud classrooms and talking during class. I decided to play sports too. Volleyball is my thing so I tried it, the girls on the team really liked me alot. I mean some people at the school are there just to get by but I'm here to learn and get and education. Oh and I had the dresscode policy collard shirts, I came out of private school to get some freedom lol come on. But yeah. The principal is always goody goody like all is wonderful I don't get it so much could be done to improve. Southwest isn't a bad school everyone fits in here, there are no cliques. That is the good thing. Everyone seems to like me at the school including my teachers, it was quite the changes at SHS but it's one I'm probably never going to forget. So out of 1-5 Southwest would get 3
I sure wish SHS would have more clubs and more activities though. So that my opinion

  • Im a student at Southwest and i am extemely embarassed to say that I attend the school. Not only are the students disrespectful and rude, the teachers and administators do little to nothing about it, but apparantly tucking your shirt in and wearing the correct uniform is more important. The new principal is an absolute joke. Threats of taking away off campus lunch and other things of the sort in response to students misbehaving is the most idiotic display ever. The entire student body should not be punished for the acts of the immature portion of it. I would highly recommend not attending Southwest. It is a pathetic excuse for a high school.

  • It is a joke to even call it a school, as that might insinuate that it is a place of learning and teaching. The teachers and staff have no control over the students. There is a total lack of respect for the students and teachers alike. They have been on a "lock down" because two students were caught fornicating in a restroom. The only thing that the students are learning is how to become a delinquent.
