  • I spent 2 GREAT years at Ingleside and have absolutely nothing but good things to say about the Education. First class! And the sports facilities and encouragement are second to none. A firmly warm and pleasant school with a wholesome character. Played a big part in who I am today, Sean Tarana (Mustang 1996-1997) Thank You!!!

  • To the person from japan telling the other guy to chill out.You have no right to tell another of what their opinion should be. As for Ingleside , I agree with the person that transferred in 98. We got treated so badly because we were poor growing up. I was scared to ask for answers from teachers because they just didnt give a damn. When I walked up to ask, they would just point to tell me to go sit back down. Oh and just to let you know really how crappy they were, I slept with one of the teachers. Im older and wiser now. He totally took advantage of a child from a bad home. So (...) at high school right now from Japan, just because you may have it alright , doesn't mean that everyone did. And we are entitled to our opinions. And I do agree with you on the fact that their will always be bullies and favoritism, but those teachers just didnt give a crap and let's be honest.broke the law by sleeping with a student. I knew of others girls that did it too. As well as some boys that had (...) with female teacher. So let's clap our hands for INGLESIDE! What a wonderful school. I dropped out in 92. Oh and they had the highest drop out rate by far, when I was enrolled.

  • Calculus was taught at the school at the time you were a senior. You're wrong. Also, not really sure how you can have an extensive resume in high school. Not sure what the "hiking club" is. It was a small school was some extracurriculars. There was indeed a marching band and also a JROTC. I didn't have blonde hair and blue eyes. I did however feel some of what you're saying about not fitting in. But it was high school.... no one fits in. Suck it up man.

  • Okay the person that commented before me needs to chill out. Yes, public school is full of bullies and people playing favourites. But, hey that's life. Even outside of school, people are mean and judgmental. I am a senior at Ingleside right now and I am doing very well. Yes, I have blonde hair and blue eyes, but what does that have to do with anything? Not only am I classified as a band geek, I am technically a foriegner. I was born in Japan, but I was accepted the moment I moved here. The person that is complaining about this school is just another person stuck in high school world. You aren't the first person to have it rough at school, get over it. Leave the past in the past. I am ten years younger than this person and I can handle stuff like this better than them. Right now the dominant trait in the school is brown hair and brown eyes hispanics. But for the most part people are treated the same. Sure, the football players and cheerleaders are treated with a little differently, but that happens at every high school. I guarantee this person is going to homeschool their kids ridding them of any real social skills. Public school prepares kids for the real world, mommy and daddy can't always help you out.

  • I transferred to this high school in the fall of 1998 as a junior. My little sister and I were immediately insulted by an administrator because of our personal style. He and the majority of the faculty ridiculed, humiliated, and insulted me repeatedly. I was suspended for wearing flip flops on campus and asked to change my clothing for wearing tank tops while all the girls around me sat and stared in bewilderment because they were dressed the same way. I came to this school with a straight A background, I was taking Calculus as a junior and Ingleside failed to even teach the course so I had to discontinue my favorite subject. I was treated as a delinquent although I spent my lunches alone across the street at the public library. I also had an extensive resume with a background in the marching band, NJROTC, National Honor Society, and Hiking club. Because I did not have blonde hair and blue eyes, was not on the cheer leading squad or in church on Sundays I was treated like a criminal in my school. The administration treated me so badly that I don't know how I made it through that school. I also worked two part time jobs my senior year, graduated among the upper portion of my class, and proceeded to college that fall. Now I am 25 and have a college degree and 3 years of professional experience behind me. I think people deserve to know how horrible these public schools such as Ingleside can be. The bullying and pressure stemmed more from the faculty than from my peers. If I choose to listen to rock music and paint my fingernails black, it has absolutely no interference with my ability to be a strong and successful person. I was happy being myself before I endured the bad experiences at this high school. My only regret is that I was too shy and insecure to stand up and defend myself by telling them to stop discriminating. And finally, the discrimination in this school extended as far as hatred for families of the military, including my own and that of friends of mine.
