  • Sunderland is a small school with a terrific support program for all students, regular, advanced and special needs. Failure in any area is not an option and although students can get overlooked in large school populations this is not the case at Sunderland. The environment is supportive, positive and always ongoing with academic acheivement and student and faculty growth. After all the two go hand in hand. The after school activities are wide ranged and a special area for the students is theater. Every year there are sold out performances for their outstanding plays which are all done by the school's students. Everyone participates in all areas, acting, stage crew, audio and filming. It is all about opportunity and letting every student experience all interests. The community raised monies and accepted grants for a new playground. What a great job. Those negatively impact the school do not know or are not involved with the community nor school life. All programs include students from all walks of life. The curriculum is BRSU based which means a fifth grader at Dorset is in doing the same math program as a fifth grader at Sunderland.
