  • I'm not sure I buy the authenticity of the previous student review. What kind of student says "We have won many competitions and games." And Ocean Lakes is "recognized as one of the best in the country?" Please! It's not even in the top three in the city. If you are looking for the best high schools in Virginia Beach, look at Cox, First Colonial, or Kellam.

  • I am currently a junior at Ocean Lakes High, and I can tell you that this is an amazing place to be. We have so many traditions, clubs, organizations, opportunities, and PEOPLE that make OLHS the best. We have ALL SCHOOL assemblies in our gym, where we have spirit yells, class competions, and performances. Its simply amazing. The staff is wonderful and supportive for our students and parents. Our Math and Science academy is one of the best in the nation. Ask anyone. Our arts are not ignored, however. Personally, I am actively involved in OLTC, our theatre company. Our school opens a variety of opportunities for students to be involved. Each year, more clubs and classes are available. Our sport teams are incredible! We have won many competitions and games. Sportsmanship is very important to us. We are very open-minded and accepting. Classes actively participate in the running of our school. Ocean Lakes is, without a doubt, the best in the state. We are also recognized as one of the best in the country. Go blue, silver, white, and gold! Go Dolphins!!
