  • I am the proud maternal aunt of a student who attended Manhattan Place Elementary School. On June 19, 2009, my brilliant niece was overlooked by her teacher and principal during the graduation ceremony: she was not acknowledged with the rest of her classmates. Her name was intentionally missed. The proud parents/grandparents brought this matter to the attention of the teacher and principal, but the ceremony continued as scheduled. This was a pivotal moment in my niece's life and she has been devastated by this incident, to say the least. The family is prepared and is pursuing all rights and will see to it that justice is rendered on behalf of my niece. The behavior displayed by both principal and teacher is unequivocally unacceptable! I strongly recommend that each of them be replaced immediately, if not permanently terminated.
