Developing Memory Skills
This lesson is about developing memory skills. You will gather items and put them in a box. You will use these items in the exercise that I have included in this lesson.
First, you will gather some small items. Then, you will place them in a box so you can have them ready for the exercise.
When you are ready to start, you will have the students gather around a table. You will place the items on the table and go over each item with the students.
Then, you will have a student turn around so that he/she is not looking at the table. You will take away one of the items and have the student turn towards the table. The student will guess what item you took away.
You will do this with each student to see if they can remember what you took away.
You can use a set of different items for each student so they will have the same amount of difficulty in remembering the items.
If you use the same ones all the time, then the children who wait and watch will have more chances to remember the items.
You can also do this activity with just one student alone while the other students are doing seatwork.
You can grade them on the number correct out of the total possible number.
