Description

In this lesson, students will write a summary about some aspect of thunderstorms.

This may take more than one hour because the students need to do the research and then write their paper.

About thunderstorms

Materials Needed

Internet
Reference book on thunderstorms
Notebook paper
Pencils and erasers or pens and whiteouts

Procedure

First, you will have the students look up information about thunderstorms. They can do this on the Internet, science book, or another reference book.

Then, they can take a specific aspect of thunderstorms such as lightning, thunder, hail, rain, or something else that occurs during a thunderstorm.

Then, they will write a summary about their topic.

After that, they will submit their papers for you to grade.

Grading

You can grade them on sentence structure, paragraph structure, punctuation, grammar, and accuracy of information.
