  • The educational standards at FMS are very high in core subjects such as math and reading, but Friends also has rich programs in other areas such as music/drama, art, computer and foreign language. Spanish is taught at all grade levels. FMS is a Quaker-run school and has all of the benefits regarding moral and character development that you would expect to find in a Christian school, but without any of the proselytizing that usually comes along as baggage. Quakers are about the most open-minded group of people in the world, and they value the traditions and customs of all creeds and races. I have never encountered a more caring and dedicated group of teachers. The class sizes are quite small. My son (in the 4th grade) is in a class of 11. This is his 3rd year at Friends and my wife and I anticipate that he will be there through the 8th grade.
