Wee Lad & Lassie Early Learning Center School

Our Facility: Founded in 1969, Wee Lad and Lassie Early Learning
Center is a small private facility located on a beautiful wooded acre in  Arnold, Maryland.  

Our Program:  In 1987, Wee Lad and Lassie joined the very few
private preschool and kindergarten programs to be accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education.  In addition, in 2005, we received MSDE Early Childhood Accreditation.  This means our
management, staff and curricula meet the highest standards in
Maryland.  Our curricula are broad based, covering Language Arts,
Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science.  Also included are music and computer instruction, arts and crafts, physical education, and Spanish.  We promote the development of the whole child by fostering physical, social, emotional and cognitive growth.  We believe that a developmentally appropriate approach to learning and individual attention are the keys to a high quality early childhood education.  

Our Staff: Our teachers and staff members are enthusiastic about children and teaching! The interaction between children and adults is positive, warm, and nurturing with lots of attention to each child's needs. All teachers have a Bachelors Degree and several have completed Graduate Programs. We find that our teachers are happy here, the rate of turnover is low, with many of our staff remaining for a number of years.
