  • We moved to Springfield in DEC 2009. Our 6th grade son started school at Immaculate Conception in January. Previously, he had been in a smaller Catholic school in Leavenworth KS since pre-school. He was very nervous about starting a new school. We quickly got him involved in extracurricular activities such as Boy Scouts, football, etc.

We were very pleased with the education he received last semester. The kids are good and the majority of the teachers really communicate well with the parents. The online gradebook and homework assignments website is great. We can keep track of what he's doing and how he's doing in school. Tuition is very reasonable for the a private school. Even more reasonable when you consider the nice class sizes and outstanding teachers. The principal and school counselor are exceptionally good. They are very much in touch with what is going on and go the extra mile to keep it organized and progressive.

Only criticism, is that they lack an official middle school football team and greater sports selection at this age. However, there is an unofficial school league they can play on associated with the High School staff. This was a good option for our son. The school does have a very active drama/acting extracurricular option. They offer plays a few times a year including an all-school musical that is quite impressive!

Our son is now in 7th grade and really loving his new school, outstanding teachers and has made some good friends.

Many parents are involved with the school and it is a family oriented Catholic environment. Mass is twice a week for the kids and we have three outstanding priests involved as positive role models.

The building is very nice except there are no student lockers so they carry book bags to classes. He seems to like the lunch selections which are very reasonably priced!

We are very pleased to have our son at Immaculate Conception! He is getting an outstanding Christian formation and education!
