  • If you care about your child, do not even consider sending him/her to SVA. My child was robbed, hazed, and bullied by other SVA students. SVA students broke into his room and urinated on his bed. As a result, my child is now in in-patient therapy – no kidding. We pulled him out during the first semester. SVA refused to refund our money. This place is Hell.

  • I went to SVA for summer school and during the regular year in 2009. This place sucks big time! My parents thought this place was great but then learned how lame this school really was. During summer school the school tried to make us pose for all these pictures for the website trying to sell the school to new students. They tried to get us to pretend we were doing all these cool sports and working on schoolwork just to get photos. They even threatened us with demerits if we didn't pose for the pictures. Man I felt like I was living in China cuz almost every student is from there - hardly any US students. Classes were easy and most teachers were cool. The owner and his son are jerks and the admissions lady is a total B. I liked the deans but they left because of the owners. Other students told me the deans and teachers always leave because of the owners, The wireless internet SUCKS and NEVER WORKED. The dorms are old and stink and the showers are gross. The food is not food and we just ate in our rooms or from 7/11. Not enough washers and dryers and the ones there suck and are super old and lame. I was able to smoke there and they gave demerits but no one really cared. We smoked in the dorms which was cool. It was fun to party with the other students and the students from China bring LOTS of smokes. I liked the blue filtered ones the best....lol! I was able to sleep through classes which was not good for my grades which is why my parents pulled me out. I was supposed to get my meds each morning but the staff would forget or not watch me take them - so i would just throw them away. I HATE MEDS,,, The classrooms are weird and some are like made from storage rooms. The school vans are piles of crap and totally dont work. The drug testing is easy to beat by just using fake pee but this was bad because I kept smoking pot. Probably smoked more pot and smokes here than ever before. I think it was because this place is boring and sucks but it was bad for my grades and my parents were pissed, Lots of things stolen from my dorm room and the school could care less. They always said to read the handbook and see they would not replace stolen stuff. I think it was the cleaning staff stealing stuff sometimes. Laptops were ALWAYS missing and money stolen all the time. I took a bunch of social studies and history classes because the school said I needed them. But when I went back to public school they said I took to many of these classes and would not graduate on time now, SVA SUCKS THE BIG ONE !!!!!
