School Description

Holy Family’s preschool and pre-kindergarten classes provide developmentally appropriate programs using the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) guidelines. The curriculum is theme-based, and provides children with a wide range of experiences to enhance and promote each child’s learning style. Teachers focus on reaching the whole child – spiritually, physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively.

Holy Family offers a refreshingly unique community of students, teachers and parents working together to create a nurturing, stimulating environment for life-long learners. We believe that each child is gifted. Our “thinking curriculum” will produce confident individuals who can communicate well and are comfortable learning new things and coping with change. These qualities will thoroughly prepare our students for the next level of education as well as life in the 21st Century

Holy Family Academy "began with the end in mind" and interviewed both public and private high schools to determine the curriculum that would best prepare our students for success in the most challenging high school tracts. Our association with Loyola Academy and Harper College were instrumental in further enhancing our program. The following summarizes our approach to middle school education:

  • The middle school extends the tradition of inquiry based learning used in the Academy’s elementary grades K-5 by linking topics to real time issues and service learning projects. Classes are designed to focus on meaningful, relevant, and engaging activities that use technology as an essential part of learning.

  • Special emphasis is placed on the development of leadership skills and teamwork.

  • Students participate in goal setting. Academic, behavioral, leadership, and spiritual goals are set and assessed each quarter.

  • All middle school students have laptop computers to allow technology to be integrated throughout the learning process.

  • Hands-on math and science curriculum are enhanced by using Harper College’s "smart classrooms", computer labs, state-of-the-art science labs, and faculty expertise. Click here to see Harper Facilities.

  • Holy Family Middle School provides a faith-based environment where middle school students can receive support and guidance as they seek independence and begin making moral choices.

  • We have 3 children at this school and it is outstanding! The staff is dedicated to teaching kids how to think--not just learn the answers. with a teacher and teaching assistant in every class (10:1 student:teacher ratio) all kids needs are met. My daughter had 24 kids in her class and 5 different reading groups--all children were challenged and all succeeded! Check out their website to learn more;WWW.holyfamilycatholicacademy.net
