School Description
Maple Tree Montessori Academy is a well established, growing, private Montessori School. We offer programs for children ages 33 months through 12 yrs. Maple Tree Montessori is the only non parochial private school in Livingston County. We follow the educationational Philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori closely and we are affiliated with the American Montessori Society, Michigan Montessori Society and our teachers are affiliated with the North American Montessori Teacher Association and the Association Montessori Internationale.
In addition to our fully equipped Montessori environment, we are very proud to offer our students the experience of our outdoor Children's Habitat Project. This includes several bio mes: Wetlands, Prairie, and Temperate Forest, all a part of our Nature Education program. We also offer, Spanish, Culinary Arts, Yoga, Drama, Montessori Music and Suzuki Violin. - We have been at mapletree for 5 years and are thrilled with this school. It is clean,organized and the cirriculum follows your child and their ability, unlike traditional schools, where the child follows the cirriculum(which is geared to the average student.) If your 7 year old is ready to learn division...then your child is taught it! What a concept! Small class size allows for plenty of 1 on 1 and tailored education. I'm most impressed with the daily lessons/practices that stress kindness,compasson, and community effort in the classrooms. Plenty of community service projects and tons of extras like:yoga, music,nature education, spanish,drama, violin,etc make this school a wonderful choice for your child.

- I recently visited Maple Tree Montessori Academy. I was impressed with how well organized the school was. I met with the pre-school teachers, and also observed the Elementary classrooms, for my older child. The staff were kind to us, as well as the children they were working with.
They followed the Montessori philosophy completely throughout the classrooms. I am confident this will be a great place for my children to attend this upcoming fall.
