  • We transferred to Carolyn Barron after moving from Charlotte. My son is 4 and in the primary class. Carolyn Barron has given my son both the support and push he needed as he transitioned. My son's reading and math level are well beyond that of the average 4 year old. Carolyn Barron is certainly providing the foundation of education we desire for our son.

  • This is such a WONDERFUL school. I am so glad my children have had the opportunity to grow up here. To the negative comments, don't give them any credit. It is likely they are parents that just didn't get their way or respect the Montessori philosophy. Come visit the loving, peaceful enviornment and you will see.

  • My children have attended CBMS for the past five years. The teachers have instilled a love of learning, accountability and independence in my girls. My communication with teachers has been open and forthcoming. We attend parent/teacher conferences, observe classes and receive regular progress reports. I am pleased that healthy lunches are encouraged so students truly perform at the highest level. The teachers and adminstration have worked with me to ensure that my children are excelling academically and socially. I truly feel blessed to have my girls in such a nurturing educational environment.

  • Not a very pleasant experience overall. My children also were held back when they transfered to other schools. One of their teachers from another Montessori school told me that it looks as if they just sat and did nothing the last year they were at CBMS. Intimidations run rampant throughout the leadership team at CBMS. If they feel you are against them in any way then you are told to leave and take your children with you. The economy is not to blame for low enrollment this school is now facing, it is the leadership and some teachers who just do not take the time to help all students.

  • My children have received the UNIQUE education that was promised. They have been at the school for five years and while they are academically advanced, more importantly, they have a true love of learning. Money well spent!

  • My children did not receive the "unique" education that I was promised. They were held back a grade when they went to public school, as were many of their classmates. That's what nearly $15,000 bought them!
