  • Our daughter graduated from CLA High School in 2008. Her class was one of the smaller ones, but all five graduates started college in the fall, three with major scholarships. The teachers pay a lot of individual attention to each student.

There are not as many extracurricular activities as the huge public high schools in the area, but the activities are accessible to ALL students. Our daughter was prom chairman, yearbook editor, and student council social chairman. She was recruited to play on the volleyball team, where she was taught the game. As a senior, she was team captain. This would nto happen at a public high school.

Although a Lutheran school, kids of all faiths, including Catholics, Jews, and Muslims have attended. There is heavy emphasis on ethics and responsible family living. The English, Math, and Art teachers are truly outstanding. The teachers are all very dedicated and experienced.

  • Christ Lutheran Academy (CLA) is a fairly new Christ-centered community high school that is open to all.

My son attended CLA his senior year. We both appreciated the more one-on-one instruction available in the smaller class size environment. His graduating class had 12 students! No one "gets lost" or is excluded. In fact, everyone is encouraged to participate - and is included.

My son always says that it was a closer, more family setting. The teachers are devoted, focused on the students' progress and needs.

Though they do not currently have the enrollment to support a football team, CLA students have other athletic and academic teams as well as a strong focus on community service programs such as Feed My Starving Children and local food pantry challenges between the four grade levels.

My son graduated from CLA with a positive educational experience, some close new friends and life changing lessons!
