  • Norma Coombs provides excellent education and a supportive environment for a diverse student population. Dr. Vanessa Watkins is unmatched in her leadership abilities as principal, both in her work with student achievement & discipline as well as her negotiation with the school district, parents, and teachers. In the face of state budget cuts to education, this school faces new challenges but promises continued growth. Last year our most at-risk student subgroups all improved significantly on test scores--just one measure of the commitment to quality education. Another is the care my own kids have received at Norma Coombs from teachers and administration. We highly recommend it!

  • this school is excellent when it comes to the quality of teachers and accademics but not as much when it comes to extra carricular programs. because art and music have been disapearing from our school even though it was originally an art school. although there isn't much we can do about it because it's more of the government's fault. frankly, i say less tests and more arts.
