  • i attended portola and ended up going to homeschool because i was not getting what i needed. the other review hits it right on the nose, favoritism. i played sports and of course there will be the favorites, the coaches kids or the kids of the parents who buys the scoreboards and such.. but this is ridiculous! and i know i am not hte only to say something. i dont think the majority of the staff loves what they are doing and in return that effects the students. the principle this year is better but not enough. geez weve gone through how many principles in the past 6 years? simply put, portola high is and will never be a great school. by the way mr. armstrong, mr. stentze, mr. dutton, mrs. tansey and mrs. klivans are great teachers, the ones who do anything for ANY of the students. dont lose anymore of these teachers.

  • I've gone to this high school for about 2 years, and I believe that this school needs improvement. There is favoritism like no other among the staff. Some kids get away with everything and others, nothing. Some of the teachers make kids feel like a nothing while others give kids the help they need to do what their hearts desire. I suppose this could be considered as a rant, but this is a serious problem.
