  • I love Russell County. I graduated in 2011 and I had the best four years of my life there. Their staff is amazing. I wouldn't have wanted to go to school anywhere else.

  • The leadership at this school is questionable at best. There has never been a consistent group of Principals in the past decade or so. However, excellent teachers still remain, and that fact is reflected by some of the students and their achievements. Teachers frequently are involved in assistance and guidance often times with no urging by the leadership staff. Some extracurricular activities do flourish. The band and JROTC programs are very successful. Sports teams haven't held a large title in a number of years. The safety level is often unstable and fights do occur more than once per week. These outbursts of violence usually take place in the halls and not in the classroom. School homework loads are unmonitored by the principals and are allowed to vary massively from one teacher to the next. The main problem is lack of policy enforcement and of leadership and experienced principals.
