  • Im an 8th grader that attends excel academy and has been at this school for about 7 years. This school is not the best school to send kids to. Excel does give a good education for us, they miss all the fundamentals of learning. We learn about Mesopotamia, the Egyptians, the roman empire, WWI, WWII, the Korean war, Vietnam, speeches, atoms, philosophy, im in algebra 1, i learned division in 2nd grade. and a whole bunch of stuff, but just the way the (...) runs the school is not good. They take all the money and waste it on stuff we dont need. and most of the teachers are strict, well the ones i know of. Education has gone down. some teachers help and guide the students, but some dont. our homework load is different depending on the teacher. the building is unique, but i honestly think the playground is boring since there are certain stupid rules. we dont even have swings at our school! The trips are good we go to mesa verde in 4th or 5th grade, california in 6th grade, washington DC and New york in 7th and 8th grade those are some good trips. and a lot of things are hands on too. so dont take your child to this school, unless you want your kid to learn about all the exciting stuff, but dont learn the fundamentals. or unless you like a strict or hands on school.
