  • my 3 children have all attended Aikahi elementary and we have found that they are well-schooled; prepared for the next level and we found the administrators over 12 years time to be quite interested in the childs development

  • My children go to Aikahi and I appreciate that every person who stops in the office is not allowed to go into the classrooms. This would be disruptive to my children's learning environment. If the parent had made an appointment with the principal she would have been provided the information she desired. As far as being military, the military families at Aikahi Elementary are celebrated for their sacrifice and dedication to our country.

  • My wife went to the school to inquire about putting my son in kindergarten at Aikahi. The administration office was of no help. The school would not give us any information on the school’s ranking or score saying that the information was in the local newspaper in November. She was not allowed to see a kindergarten classroom or see how the teacher interacts with the students. She was told she could come after school only to view the school grounds. When asking about the academics she was told it was the standard program followed in Hawaii and that lower income students provide better funding for the school. I would not send my son to this school because of the lack of information and interest that the school takes in potential parent of future students. I'm not sure what the problem is. It could be that we are a military family but in the six-year we have been on island we have never been treated so badly. Put you kids in another public school or private if you can afford it.
