  • I couldn't be happier with Roosevelt school and my daughter loves it too! I couldnt have asked for a better K & 1st grade teacher let alone the support staff (with reading in particular A A ) across the board from Mr Hayes to the ladies that so patiently help on the playgrounds and lunchroom! The only issues that are brought home to us are the result of obnoxious kids who are most likely not disciplined at home and how they disrupted the day of others. Thanks to the staff at Roosevelt for a great 2 years.. and heres to another to begin in a few weeks!

  • Some teachers were competent but everyone from the playground teachers to the principal refused to stop violence at this school on more than one occasion. My daughter was subject to a years worth of violence and she has chronic liver disease. They couldn't be bothered to call me when she was hit and pushed to the ground at recess by a larger boy. One teacher waved her off when she went to her for help so she had to run to another one who wasn't sitting staring into space and ignoring her. By the next day her liver was disfunctioning and she was in the hospital from this violent incident. I had informed the school of her condition and fragility of her reconstructive surgery several times during the school year and in writing that was kept on file. This school deserved a f- for their utter apathy regarding the safety and health of their student. The reason this school retains its rating is that it does not report school violence or issues that deserve attention. I am far from the only parent with this problem and met more than a few after enrolling her in a private catholic school. If you're a military family and thinking of moving here, put your kids into private school and avoid the danger.
