  • For the past 6 years my husband and I have praised Diamondback and all the teachers, staff and (...). Our view changed drastically today and we are very concerned. Today our 2nd grader brought home spelling words - these are the spelling and sight words he did in kindergarten at Diamondback! (we actually have the papers from then). Needless to say this was brought to his teacher's attention immediately. Our response was that the curriculum had changed but we were welcome to come take a look at it. We are shocked with his teachers response and that words like "bag, ran, is, I, his, has, if and am" are considered words 7 year olds should practice for an upcoming test and that the kids are studying the vowel sounds with "i" and "a". This is again from kindergarten. Perhaps we can send in our tests from kindergarten? We are sad that the teacher didn't seem to feel this was a problem. We are speechless at this point but will continue to find out why it appears standards have now been lowered. We hope to be able to write a rave review again in the very near future about this school. This is the only incident that we have ever had to bring to anyone's attention.
