  • This school is academically superior to its crosstown rival and, in most sports, athletically superior as well. Its art department is an unfortunate victim of budget cuts so the student artist that excel there are truly gifted. I as a student have faced some discrimination from others for being (...), but the admiration of intellectual or athletic ability equals out the insults. The "jock culture" is well in place there, so any incoming students should be prepared to deal with cliques on a major scale. The principals and teachers do offer athletic students certain exceptions to disciplinary infractions, but that is about the worst of the school aside from the deplorable dress code that requires all males to tuck in their shirts. The best would probably be the connections students gain with their teachers if they are willing to simply work, not to mention all the diversity amongst the students with many different ethnic groups and social classes and not just the glorified "White Pride" that some surrounding schools cling to (Northridge High school and Jimtown High school are inhabited by primarily white, upper class students with few exceptions). All in all, it is one of the most average and stereotypical high school experience to be found in the USA.
