  • My child attend CGCS in 2008-2009. The 6th grade (Mrs. Ford) was really great with the students as well as keeping us- the parents involved and updated with our child progression in class. She was strict yet very unstanding to my pre-teen and from what I seen...she wore MANY hats (teacher, counselor, and mother to some of her students). Unfortunately, I pulled out my children from CGCS because the teacher turnover rate is poor (Mrs. Ford was gone and wouldn't be my daughter teacher), the lunch wasn't healthy (where is the fruits and vegetables?) I also wasn't allowed to sit in on class session (which would have helped explaining the homework packages), sometimes the woman who ran the school was very rude and unruling to both parents and her staff, the DRESS CODE (ran into problems with the sneakers being tan and not BROWN..really)Which is why I gave the school 3 apples. Nice teachers (who I wish would have lasted) but the rules and condition of school needs lots of work!

  • This school was the worst mistake I could have made as far as my sons education. He attended kindergarten there and it was more like a preschool than anything. I did homework with my son every night and read to him but it wasn't enough. We ended up leaving this school and enrolling him into a public school in first grade. The teachers at his new school told us he had the education of kindergartner and we had to hold him back to repeat first grade again. Charter schools and public schools have totally different standards. I would suggest to anyone thinking of enrolling their child into a charter school to first look at the schools educational standards compared to a public school.

  • I had my children here only one day. I really had a bad feeling about it. There was something very fishy about not being able to see my children to make sure they were safe during the day rule. The kindergarden class was a disaster they only let me see it after school but not while my daughter was there . I found rusted nails sticking out of desk and a great Mess!!!! After I left I heard that there was great animal cruelty there. So Sad!

  • This school is AMAZING!! There is so many amazing opportunities that most other schools don't have. Mrs.Burge is such a wonderful woman. I've been going here for four years and with the school I have been to The Chicago/Great Lakes region, Washington D.C. (twice!) Trinidad, and Tobago! I plan on being a zoologist and this school is the perfect one for helping me! Plus the business is a lot of fun and it teaches us alot about the real world! I wouldn't leave here for all the money in the world!
