  • I like the school, but I still don't understand why there isn't more homework for the kids. Until conferences, campus portal, you really don't know how your child is doing.I enjoy talking to the people at the school (problem or not) but problems get solved. My only concern is the students doing their homework at school and not doing any studying or homework at home. You can ask, but you don't always get an answer about homework from your child.

  • I have enjoyed as a parent being involved with this school. We now apart of the Booster with Hoover; known as Husky Boosters. We have concessions for middle school events. Teachers respond to paretns who show they care. I have enjoyed watching my girls be apart of an amazing 6th gr. science class where they got to do disections that kids will never have the opportunity to do. That teacher rocks! I have enjoyed watching my girls progress in the understanding of different cultures, economic levels, and how everyone is someone and every person counts. There are of course the typical issues within the school, that NO school when being honest can deny. I'm excited to hear that we will have a new media center shared with Hoover soon. I'm excited as to how many Meredth students have choosen to participate in Central Academy. Teachers who care make that possible.

  • Regarding field trips -- help the teachers by sponsoring the trips (yes, I have). Donate extra supplies for experiments, projects and consumables. Volunteer -- come judge special events, lend your expertise in enhancing the students' experiences.

My daughter loves the food (and on the days she does not, she brings a lunch from home). Most of her teachers have been wonderful last year and we look forward to the upcoming year.

  • Last year my child was an 8th grader and they didnt take even ONE field trip.
I think that is just RIDICULOUS!
I dont think i am going to send my younger children to this school next year at all.
And i dont like having my children also come home complaining about the food and how they it the same stuff every week.
