  • The school is awful. The majority of the staff needs to return back to school for education for themselves. There is no structure in the majority of the classrooms. TEACHERS does not know how to talk to kids.Principal and Assistant Principal needs to get the hell away from the school and someone who truly cares and have a true love for kids of all race and background needs to come in and make a complete turn around. I am so angry how our people in authority let these public schools be so damaged and messed up. How could all public schools not be on the same level? The principals doesn't want to admit that there is a bullying problem going on not to mention a whole lot of other things. What happened to parents actually raising their kids to the best of their knowledge and then school officials pitching in and helping since they are in school most of the day?I just do not know I guess Prayer got taken out of schools and we let everything else in so THAT IS WHAT WE GET! There are a few good teachers but not enough at Evangeline. My husband and I begged the Principals to put our child in another class with a more structured teacher months ago because he was acting up .His grades were excellent enough to make honor roll but because of a "C" in conduct he could not make it. My son had no reason to disrespect anyone in authority and he knows this but because of bullies and the lack of social skills that his teacher did not know anything about along with these so called principals they did not have any themselves. I could only guess the light bulb finally came on and my child was put in a structured classroom . The first day in the other classroom was wonderful and no one picked on him he says.We also got him evaluated by professional and his first session was described as he was angry with his x- teacher and two of his classmates. Forgot to mention my child was put behind a wall and outside because he would blurt out answers, asking other kids what are they looking at,or described by these principals and teacher he talks to himself,of course I would to if I am being bullied and teacher never catches the other kids calling me names and telling me they will bring things to harm me.I think the x- teacher needs to take a break off and go and get taught herself on handling a classroom.Child conduct is awesome "At and "B' of course I guess it is never to late like the saying goes. My friend's daughter goes to Broadmore she is so far advanced and is in the same grade as my child not to mention both are in a public school.I guess I should have done my homework a lot sooner.I also know that there is no perfect public or private school but no perfect kids and no perfect adults .As a parent who believes in educating my kids and teaching them wrong from right I guess I need to teach them how to handle bullies and to let them know how unfair the school system in Southwest Louisiana are and how Prejudice a world we are living in.Parents if you do not stand up and look out for your kids I do not know who will because the public school system does not care enough about them but their own. MR. Ricky Hardy has the right ideal about moving the grade point average up to play sports. Our kids look like they are only good to make a school win a championship title for a school but not good enough to invest higher and equal learning as some of the other public schools on the other end of town. Parents do not have more than you can handle. Raise what you have because with only two it is overwhelming at times. Glad I found this out before next school year so I can adjust and make better decisions for next school year.
